JAPANESE GILT & LACQUER BUTSUDAN, H 51" W 21 1/2" D 17":The butsudan has two hinged exterior doors, opening to a folding silk screen. The interior features an ornately decorated gold gilt columned altar, raised on a base with scenes of landscape in high relief. Below the altar is an open shelf with a pull out surface. The cabinet is raised on a squared base, having a lower shelf with sliding doors. The piece has an all over floral motif. Signed on verso.
