ENGLISH OAK TANTALUS WITH (3) DECANTERS & CRIBBAGE BOARD, 1892, H 12", W 13":An oak case with brass mounts and two hinged compartments, one of which opens to fitted interior with three silverplate cups, and the other encloses playing cards and cribbage board, and fitted with 3 cut glass decanters. The top is mounted with an engraved sterling silver presentation plaque which reads, in part, "First Prize for the Best Sample of Brown Mustard Grown by Him" (see additional photo), and bears Birmingham hallmarks, 1892-93. Measures H.12" x 13" x 10".
