Sept. 8th.1806." the sampler with silk threads on a linen ground with three alphabet panels above the verse "Labour for learning befor thou art old./For learning is better than silver or gold./Silver and gold will vanish away./But learning is a jewel that will never decay." which is enclosed in a strawberry vine, above the signature panel, the whole enclosed on three sides by a sawtooth border and a wide flowering vine border, (minor imperfections), 17 x 17 in., unframed.
