Five Double-series Opaque-twist Wineglasses, England, c. 1770, each with conical foot, four with ogee bowls: one with vertical gauze column inside two heavy thread spirals, ht. 5 1/2, another with molded basal flutes to bowl on stem with two heavy thread spirals outside a lace twist, ht. 5 1/4, one with molded bowl on a stem with vertical gauze column inside four heavy thread spirals, ht. 5 1/2, the fourth with band of engraved foliage above faceted bowl on stem with a pair of corkscrew threads surrounded by a pair of multi-ply corkscrews, ht. 5 5/8; the fifth with a round funnel bowl with solid base on stem with vertical gauze column inside two spiral tapes, ht. 6 in. The first with ground out chip to foot rim and very small chip at same area along foot rim. The decoration to the fourth bowl possibly later. The stem with three spiral incised lines to stem. Each with usage wear.
