Sevres-style Bronze-mounted Porcelain Inkstand, France, 19th century, ovoid, with two covered inkwells over polychrome hand-painted cartouches with bouquets of flowers within landscapes against a gilt-decorated turquoise ground, on a reticulated foot cast with scrolled acanthus leaves, unsigned, porcelain marked "Sevres y," handle-to-handle lg. 9 3/4 in. One bronze handle lacking one screw, so that it is loose from mounting. Repaired crack with inpainting to body. Old adhesive applied to base of porcelain and bronze foot, with loss and resulting separation. Minor loss/rubbing to enamel and gilt.
