Federal Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry, and Mahogany Veneer Inlaid Slant-lid Desk, possibly southeastern United States, c. 1800, the fall-front opens to a shell-inlaid prospect door flanked by document drawers faced with gilt-leather bindings and string-inlaid drawers, above a case of four cockbeaded graduated drawers, on slightly flaring French feet, (imperfections), ht. 44 1/4, wd. 42, dp. 20 3/4 in.
