Continental School, Early 19th century. "Hunter with Dog", oil on canvas relined and laid on board, unsigned. Figural painting, likely a fragment from a larger work, depicting a shaped medallion with hunter in blue jacket and cap holding rifle looking out toward distance with loyal hunting dog or hound by side, surrounded by decorative light blue scrolling, diaper patterned shapes and other forms throughout. Overall measures approximately 27.75" x 30.25".
