Attributed to the shop of John and Thomas Seymour (American (Boston) 1790-1817), circa 1800-1810. A Boston Federal Era four-drawer mahogany bowfront chest of drawers comprising a top with ovolo corners with light and darkwood inlaid lunettes at edge, over the bowfront facade comprising four long drawers each with two escutcheons with anchor and spyglass motif. Approximate height 42.75", width 42", depth 22.25". Note: the upper drawer contains a note stating the piece belonged to the Crowninshield family of Boston and the piece was "probably made by John or Thomas Seymour in Boston."
