A tribute trophy presented to Pelé by Amrita Bazar Patrika , a daily newspaper widely known as “The Times of India. ” The trophy features a football player figure affixed to a metal sculpture of planet Earth. Affixed to the base is a gold tone metal plaque inscribed "Amrita Bazar Patrika/ THE WORLD AT HIS FEET/ Jugantar Amrita [Immortal player]/ Northern India Patrika/Calcutta/ 23rd September 1977.” Pelé was in India with the Cosmos for an international friendly match against Mohun Bagan A.C.
