A silver tone Illustrious Citizen medal presented to Pelé by the city of Montevideo, Uruguay. Pelé was presented the medal by then mayor Ricardo Ehrlich during a ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Libertadores Cup on May 27, 2009, in Montevideo. The medal is housed in a blue vinyl case with blue felt interior. Mounted on the interior of the case is a metal plaque inscribed to Pelé.
