An oil on canvas painting titled "From Nahodka Westward by Train," painted in 1994 by musician David Bowie and artist Beezy Bailey. The painting has its title written on the back and is signed on verso by Bowie and Bailey. Two Polaroid photographs are affixed onto the painting and have been painted over. Bowie and Bailey collaborated on numerous paintings after they first met in Cape Town, South Africa. Bowie gave the painting its title because it reminded him of a train trip in Japan that he took in the 1970s. The painting was donated by both artists for the Art for Africa charity auction. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks Ltd. 16 by 20 inches PROVENANCE Lot 4, "Art for Africa," Sotheby's, New York, September 21, 1999 Categories: David Bowie
