Fine and unique, Perspex, silvered and gilt metal, wood and stone-set, 8-day going table clock with visible movement and partial world map with longitudes and latitudes. Rectangular, Perspex, 12 gilt-brass screw heads each engraved with a sign of the zodiac, blue Perspex back enclosing a cut-out partial world map of Europe, Africa and the Americas, a ship in full sial in the South Atlantic Ocean, outer border engraved with degrees of longitude and latitude, the Perspex engraved with the grid and compass points, some world cities highlighted with colored stones: London, Birmingham, Paris, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Francfurt, Basel, Zurich, Havana, Santa Domingo, Monrovia, Accra, Lagos and Port Harcourt, South America engraved "Herrn W Preiswerk Tissot zum 13 April 1953 von allen seinen Mitarbeiten am Nonnenweg". Inset within the case, chapter ring with applied gilt faceted hour indexes. Brushed gilt skeleton lozenge hands with white tips. Gilt-brass with linear wheel train, 15 jewels, straight- line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating flat balance spring. Notes Perspex crystal signed. DIM. 30.5 x 26.5 x 12 cm.
