"Art Deco Birds" Longines, case No. 2320614, movement No. 2520614. Sold on July 14, 1922 to Mr. Perusset. Magnificent and rare frosted platinum, iridescent translucent cloisonné enamel, diamond and sapphire keyless pendant watch. Three-body, the bezel set with diamonds and calibre-set sapphire Arabic numerals in an arcaded sapphireborder, calibre-set sapphire band and bow, the winding crown set with a cabochon sapphire, the back withdiamond and sapphire decoration to match the bezel, frosted platinum centre panel. Cloisonné enamel, outerArabic 24-hour numerals, the centre decorated with fantastic birds and flowers in shades of pale blue against asea-green translucent and iridescent ground. Blued steel Breguet hands. Cal. 10.85M, rhodium-plated, "faussescotes" decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flatbalance-spring, index regulator.Movement signed, the frontplate signed Wittnauer Longines. Dial, case and movement numbered.Diam. 41 mm. Notes The present watch, very likely a unique piece, was sold to Mr. Perusset, who was the Longines representative for France.
