“Nocturne” Matthey-Tissot, “Nocturne”, Swiss, No. 2293. Made circa 1905. Fine bronze minute-repeating desk clock with enamel dial. Bronze with intricate hunting trophies representing a rabbit and a pheasant lying on foliage and guns, the front of the case depicting an injured feline surmounted by a lion’s head, the minute repeating stem in the shape of an acorn. White enamel with black Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel “spade” hands. Rectangular gilt brass, 11 jewels, going barrel, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring. Repeating on gongs. Movement signed Nocturne, movement and case numbered. Dim. 90 x 56 x 34 mm.
