“Vermicelli” Lépine, Horloger du Roy, a Paris. Made circa 1780. Fine, 18K gold and enamel pendant watch. Two-body, “Directoire”, hinged and sprung bezel set with half-pearls, the back cover overlaid with wine-colored guilloché enamel decorated with vermiculae, half-pearl border. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. 26 mm., frosted gilt full-plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental type balance cock, silvered regulation dial.
