“J’ai Juré Par L’Amour” Jaques Patron, Genève, No. 1345. Made circa 1790. Fine and charming, spherical, 18K gold and painted on enamel lady’s pendant watch. Two-body, spherical, the front cover with a painted on enamel scene of a boy and his pet dog in a landscape, black enamel and foliate edge, the border with the inscription: De Vous Aimer Toujour in white enamel, the back with a painted on enamel scene of a young girl and her pet rabbit in a landscape, black enamel and foliate edge, the border with the inscription: Jai Jure Par L’ Amour. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, Arabic quarter hour numerals. 17 mm., frosted gilt, full-plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental type balance cock, silvered regulation dial. Dial signed. Diam. 23.5 mm.
