“Minute-Repeater” A. Nicolet, Swiss, No. 6658. Made circa 1900. Very fine, keyless, minute-repeating, 18K pink gold dress watch. Four-body, “demi-bassine”, solid, polished, hinged cuvette. White enamel with painted Arabic numerals, outer minute ring with 5-seconds/minute red markers, recessed subsidiary seconds dial. Cal. 18’’’, maillechort, “fausses-côtes” decoration, 31 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, “swan-neck” micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs by activating slide on the band. Dial and movement signed, case numbered. Diam. 47 mm.
