“Boite a Musique” Geneva, goldsmith’s mark “B**”, No. 136. Made circa 1820. Fine and rare, 18K gold musical snuff box. Four-body, rectangular, canted corners, hinged lid for the snuff compartment decorated with an engine-turned diamond pattern within a finely engraved foliate border, the side panels and base decorated to match. 82 x 53 mm., brass with fusee and chain, pinned cylinder, 60 tuned steel teeth, fly governor, start/stop silde on the side of the case. Punched with partially illegible master mark “B**” in a lozenge. Dim. 89 x 58 x 24 mm.
