Chinese, 19th century. A blue and white Chinese export lidded tureen with cobalt under glazing on a white ground depicting chrysanthemums and branches on the lid surrounding a floriform raised handle with foliate forms in relief, with a continuous scrollwork border around the edge of the lid and vessel, and chrysanthemums in cobalt around the body of the tureen and animal mask handles on either end in blue, with chrysanthemum decorations on the inner side of the lid as well as in the cavity of the tureen. Unmarked. 13" x 9.25" x 7.25".
