Christian Strenge(Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, active 1787-1820) - Religious verse, Psalm 5, hand-drawn watercolor and ink on laid paper, beginning "herr" (Lord) with an intricate letter "H" decorated with trailing vines and tulips, an upper panel with similar red and yellow tulips and leafy vines, within a yellow border with red block corners, 8" x 6 1/2", etaining a wonderful early decorated frame with pinwheels in the corners connected by green and yellow leafy vines.
