Steve McQueen's Foldable Persol Sunglasses Throughout the late 1960s and 70s, McQueen was photographed on numerous occasions wearing the "foldable" Persol sunglasses. He also wore Persol sunglasses on-screen in The Thomas Crown Affair and The Getaway. The present pair was recovered by Jimmy Brucker from the airport hangar in Santa Paula where McQueen lived toward the end of his life. The sunglasses are made from plastic tortoiseshell-like frames; inside the right arm reads ‘Persol’ inside left arm reads ‘brevett’ and ‘Ratti’ (last name of the Italian photographer, Giuseppe Ratti, who invented this eyewear in the 1910s). Accompanied by a letter from Jimmy Brucker confirming authenticity. To be sold without reserve
