Cariatides – Petit-Zéro French, No. 729. Made circa 1900. Fine, miniature, gilt brass, 8-day going carriage clock with high-relief decoration. To be sold without reserve Gilt brass, "cariatides", winged caryatid Columns, foliate cast and chased top and base, the sides and back door with pierced flower and foliate frets, the top glazed to view the escapement, hinged carrying handle. White enamel with radial blue Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and red Arabic five-minute numerals, gilt dial mask with applied flower and foliate fretwork. Blued steel hands. Rectangular, gilt brass, four pillars, barrel for the going train, lateral lever escapement mounted on a gilt platform, cut bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring, index regulator. Dim. 64 x 45 x 38 mm. excluding handle.
