The Priest’s Surprise Swiss. Made circa 1810. Fine and rare, gilt-metal pocket watch with painted on enamel concealed erotic scene and a gilt-metal chatelaine. Three-body, consular, polished, reeded band. Small eccentric white enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, hinged gilt mask embossed with three cupids at the altar of love, opening to reveal the erotic scene of a priest and a lady in an interior. Blues steel scotties hands. 48 mm., matte gilt, full plate with pentagonal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial.
