VAUCHER “INNOCENCE” Vaucher, Freres, Geneve. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1830. Fine and rare, oval, gold and enamel key-wind pendant watch. Three-body, oval, polished, stepped bezel and outer reverse to a plain centre, sprung cuvette. Off-set white enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute and quarters, prominent scene of a young couple under mistletoe near a fountain with cupid looking on holding a white dove. Gilt hands. Oval, gilt, standing barrel with open bridges, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, fl at hairspring, index regulator. Dial and cuvette signed. Dim. 50 mm x 59 mm. Notes Vaucher Frères are recorded as working in La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva between 1780 and 1830.
