GLAESNER - LES SCIENCES LES ARTS ET L'ASTRONOMIE Glaesner a Lions (Lyon). Made circa 1785. Fine and very rare, small, Louis XVI, ormolu, 8-day going, hour and half hour striking mantel clock. Rectangular base on four turned feet and with pearled and interlaced decoration, surmounted by a globe and flanked by branches of laurel and palm, the movement supported by a small square fluted column, the various instruments of arts and sciences lying at the base. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outer Arabic minute numerals. Gilt brass Louis hands. Gilt-brass, circular plates with flat base, off-set barrels for the going and striking trains, anchor escapement, brass bob pendulum with silk suspension, striking on a bell with countwheel on the back plate. Notes Dial signed. DIM. 32 x 18 x 10 cm.
