Matched pair of Regence style giltwood carved fauteuils, each with arched rectangular back with foliate-carved cresting centered by a shell, above a padded back and seat covered in ivory fabric, the downswept arms with strapwork carved terminals with shells, rocaille, foliage and cabriole supports, above molded rails and the seat-rail centered by a shell flanked by foliate scrolls, on slightly cabriole legs headed by shells and joined by X-shaped stretchers and terminating in hoof feet. Height 44.3", width 25.25" (arm to arm), seat depth 19.5", seat height 16.5".
