E. MAURICE CO. STRIKING CARRIAGE CLOCK E. Maurice Co., Paris, No. 5324. Made circa 1910. Fine gilt brass, eight day-going, hour and half-hour striking carriage clock with repeating. Gilt bronze, “Anglaise”, beaded pillars, glazed aperture on the top to view the escapement, the sides with gilded pierced and engraved foliate panels, red glass behind backed with foil, hinged handle. Turned ivory with painted radial Arabic numerals, gilt mask pierced and engraved with fl owers and leaves to match the case. Blued steel spade hands. Brass rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking trains, platform escapement with lateral lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, flat balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on a gong. Stamped E.M. & Co on the movement. Dim. 13 x 8.8 x 8 cm., excluding the handle.
