Very fine, 18K gold and painted on enamel keyless dress watch C. Three body, the bezel chased with oak leaf decoration, coin-edge band, the back with a fine painted on enamel scene of a Roman gladiator standing before the Emperor victorious over his defeated opponents, the armour highlighted with coloured paillons, inscribed ‘Pas de Grace pour le Vaincu’ (no thanks to the vanquished). D. Mat silver with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. M. 12’’’, rhodium plated, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed, case numbered, enamel signed ‘E.V’. DIAM. 45 mm.
