Very fine and rare, minute-repeating, 18K gold hunting cased, keyless pocket lever chronometer. Four-body, bassine, solid, polished, the front cover engraved with an engraved foliate monogram "PW". Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, inner Arabic 24-hour numerals, subsidiary dial for the seconds. Gold spade hands. 19''', matte gilt, 27 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Guillaume-type cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Movement signed on the dial plate. Notes DIAM. 53 mm. The present watch is in extremely good and clean condition. It is uncommon for a watch with extra complications such as minute-repeating to achieve Chronometer standard as the extra mechanical function can have an adverse effect on the timekeeping. This watch has been called by the maker "Extra Quality" and has therefore been made to very exacting standards which resulted in a Bulletin d'Observatoire being awarded after Chronometer trial.
