England, circa 1790. Fine and unusual 18K gold and enamel, diamond-set watch with a lock of hair. Double body, Louis XVI, the bezel with a white champlevé and purple flinqué lines, the purple flinqué enamel back centred with a lock of hair within a glazed, diamond-set framed locket. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals.Gold "poker and beetle" hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Gilt brass English cock with diamond end-stone.Diam. 42 mm.
