Guinand à Paris, circa 1800. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, watch with date and visible escapement. Double-body, Directoire, polished, the back centre with a glazed aperture revealing the escapement. White enamel eccentric with Breguet numerals and small subsidiary dial for the date on each side of the central escapement observation aperture. Gold Breguet hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement fitted to the centre and visible through the dial and back plate, plain gold three-arm balance, small balance bridge with polished steel end-piece.Signed on the dial and back plate.Diam. 56 mm.
