Olivier Delachaux, à la Colonie Suisse de Lutsevek près Blony, Pologne, 1821. Very fine and almost certainly unique 18K gold skeleton watch with rock crystal plate and bridges. Three-body, Empire, polished with glazed back. White enamel chapter ring with Breguet numerals. Gold Breguet hands. Unique gilt brass framed with rock crystal single plate, rock crystal and polished steel bridges, going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring with regulator.Signed on the rim of the movement frame.Diam. 51 mm. Notes Almost certainly unique watch with rock crystal plate, produced by one of the very few Swiss watchmakers who originated from the Canton of Neuchâtel and worked in Poland at the beginning of the 19th century. Watches with rock crystal movement are extremely rare; the layout of the movement, in this example, is of a very unusual design with very delicate polished steel bridges. No other watch of this type is known to exist; it could therefore be considered as a Masterpiece.
