Gontard et Cie, à Paris, No. 1153, circa 1870.Fine and rare 18K gold, 15-day going watch with power reserve indication. 19’’’, gilded brass, 8 jewels, special calibre with large mainspring barrel covering the entire back of the watch, winding indication sector calibrated for 15 days on the barrel cover driven directly from the pinion mounted on the winding arbor. Cylinder escapement, monometallic three-arm balance, flat balance spring.Signed on the dial and barrel cover.Diam. 49 mm. Notes The 15-day going watch with power reserve indication was patented by Gontard in 1846.
