Giovani Miller, probably Italian, circa 1710. Fine and unusual small silver pair-cased hour-striking, single-hand coach watch. Outer: Two-body, shagreen-covered, silver pin-work forming a rosette. Inner: Two-body, "bassine", sides pierced and engraved with foliage, back centered by engraved rosette. Silver, Roman numerals, blued steel hand. Hinged, fire-gilded full-plate, fusee and chain, square baluster pillars, verge escapement, plain brass balance, 1.5-coil flat balance spring, English-style balance, striking with fixed barrel and silver count-wheel on the back, unusual striking governor in form of a groovedcylinder.Signed on the movement.Diam. 100 mm.
