Brouncker Watts, London, No. 715, hallmarked 1709-10. Very fine and rare 22K gold pair-cased watch. Outer: two-body, polished, box-hinged, inner: two-body, “bassine” with deep back, polished. Gold, matte, champlevé radial Roman numerals, inner half-hour divisions, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic figures on polished cartouches, chased center with mask and scrolling. Blued steel “beetle and poker” hands. 41 mm, gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, single-footed English cock with streamers. Signed on dial and movement. Diam. 56 mm.
