Howard, Series VIII, circa 1893.Very rare and very fine, gold-filled, keyless Railroad Grade watch. three-body "bassine et filets", triple hinged, concave bezels with reeded edges, by "A & I". white enamel, bold Arabic numerals, outer minute ring, sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "Solid Lance" hands. Notes This is a very rare watch. The 200 examples produced are listed by Howard as "Grade IX, Special", the highest rating given.
