John Cashmore, 1 North Buildings, London, No. 3662, made for Spanish or South American market, hallmarked 1866-67.Very fine and rare, 18K gold hunting-cased, minute-repeating pocket chronometer with special escapement. four-body, "bassine et filets", fully engraved on both covers with floral and foliate designs, band engraved with repeated geometrical pattern, gold hinged cuvette with large chased word "CHRONOMETER". silver with Roman numerals alternating with small engraved cartouches, outer minute dot divisions, center with applied gold flower basket, the edge with applied gold acanthus-leaf decoration, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel "fleur de lys" hands. Notes It is very rare to find a minute repeater with spring detent chronometer escapement.
