The Flower WreathUnsigned, Neuchâtel, circa 1790. Fine 18K gold and painted on enamel pocket watch. Two-body, forme "Collier", back finely painted on enamel with a young lady seated on a rock in the countryside, holding a bouquet of flowers, a dark sky in the background, paillon bezels. 44 mm., hinged frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement plain brass balance with flat balance spring,continental cock.Punched "HTB, 4974" on the pendant.Diam. 51 mm. Notes A good example of enameling from the Neuchâtel area, probably la Chaux-de-Fonds. The enamel was clearly inspired by Genevan work.
