Swiss or French, circa 1820. Fine brass and steel wheel dividing (slotting) engine. Horizontal brass dividing plate set with 30 rows of divisions, spring-loaded hinged locking arm with a thumb loop, pivoted cutting arm with a slide and a crank lever, conical blank holding fixture, iron holding arm with screw, socle foot. Later wooden base. Dim. 15 x 22. Good condition. A very well preserved tool. Polished and lacquered.
