Baltasar Bosch in Collen (Köln), circa 1620. Fine and rare silver and gilt brass pre-balance spring, single-hand astronomical watch with date, days of the week, phases and age of the moon. Oval, three-body, glazed on both sides, silver bezels, silver ribbon on the gilt brass band engraved with foliate pattern and masks, small pendant, loose ring, small finial. On oval gilt brass plate engraved with scrolling, radial Roman hour chapter on applied silver ring set in the lower part, Arabic one for date at the top, days of the week dial with ruling planets to the left, and phases of the moon and its age apertures to the right. Blued steel "tulip" hand. Oval, 46 x 47 mm, gilt brass full-plate, baluster pillars, fusee and gut, verge escapement, circular steel foliot, irregular pinned cock pierced and engraved with wild strawberries, small pierced and engraved en suite cock for mainspring set-up wheel.Signed on the movement.Dim. 65 x 41 mm Notes Provenance: Dr. Antoine Feill Collection.
