"Au Beau Sauvage" Esquivillion & Dechoudens, circa 1820. Fine 18K gold quarter-repeating watch with automaton Jacks. Three-body, "Empire" with reeded band, plain polished back. Gilt spring-loaded cuvette. Small white enamel minute ring, inner white enamel cartouche with Breguet numerals. Blued-steel Breguet hands. Gold dial plate with applied multicolored gilt silver automaton Jacks of Blackamoore type, striking hours and quarters on two bells suspended from the canopy of a palm, a lion and a lioness beneath. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring, Gilt brass continental cock. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant.Cuvette and movement signed.Diam. 55 mm.
