Courting Doves Just & Son, London, No. 3332, made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. Fine and rare 18K gold and enamel pearl-set center-seconds watch with special movement and special escapement. Two-body, the back featuring two enamel techniques: champlevé and painted enamel forming courting doves on a black ground, band, pendant and bow decorated in black and white champlevé enamel, cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel, radial Roman hours, outer minute and second divisions, Arabic fifteenminutes/seconds. Blued steel “Tulip” hands.
