The Melon Amalric Frères, Geneva, No. 18970, circa 1800. Fine and rare 18K gold and enamel melon form watch with concealed dial. Two-body, lobed "fermée" type, the spring-loaded front revealing the dial, both covers decorated with alternating panels of black enamel with champlevé flowers and blue black and red champlevé stripes. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute dot divisions and Arabic quarters. Blued steel hands. 20 mm, hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock pierced and engraved, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Dial and movement signed.Dim. 24 mm Diameter, 44 mm high.
