Warrior’s Rest Swiss, circa 1810. Very fine and extremely rare 18K gold, pierced and engraved quarter-repeating double-train musical watch with concealed erotic automaton. Three-body, Empire, by “ID”, engine-turned, reeded band, music activation pushbutton at 4, regulator lever protruding at 9. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, two winding apertures. Blued steel “Spearhead” hands. Automaton dial: under back cover, gold painted on enamel plaque depicting a room in a farmhouse with automata showing a soldier taking advantage of the local hospitality. 51 mm (22’’’), gilt brass full-plate with cylindrical pillars, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance-spring, small gilt brass bridge cock, repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Barilet type musical train with six stacked steel teeth, automaton driven from the musical train.Diam. 58 mm.
