Tompion, London, German or Swiss, made for the English Market, circa 1760. Fine 22K gold pair cased quarter repeating watch, accompanied by a brown ribbon with two gold tassles. C. Outer double body, tortoiseshell covered, decorated with an urn and further foliage decoration. Inner gold bassine, pierced and engraved with inhabited foliage. D. Gold champleve with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. Gilt brass dust cap. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with turned baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, English style gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with foliage. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial, back plate and dust cap.
