Very fine and rare, square, "ouvrante", 18K white gold gentleman's wristwatch with concealed dial. massive, polished with hinged and spring loaded cover. two-tone silver with applied white gold Breguet numerals. "Moderne " white gold hands. Notes Montre bracelet "ouvrante" , Brevete S.G.D.G. Manufactured under a Patent granted to the firm of Leon Hatot, this concer n wristwatches with the dial concealed beneath an hinged spring loaded cover. The intention was to apply an enamelled or engraved mouograui, although few of the surviving examples have in fact been decorated. A similar watch in yellow gold was sold by Antiquorum on 21 April 1996, lot 298.
