Corneille, Pierre (1606-1684) Theatre . [Geneva: Cramer], 1764. Octavo, twelve volumes, illustrated with a frontispiece engraved by Watelet, and full-page plates throughout the text by Gravelot, contemporary sponged calfskin, spines very dry, disintegrating, most labels missing. Corneille was one of the most celebrated of the French 17th-century playwrights. He was active in the theatre for more than thirty years and is the author of Le Cid .
