Two 23-jewel Waltham Vanguard Open Face Watches, Waltham Watch Company, Waltham, Massachusetts, both in gold-filled cases, the first no. 23177389, with double-sunk Arabic numeral dial marked Waltham , movement marked as above; the second no. 32399148, with a bold Arabic numeral dial, sunk seconds, marked Waltham , and Vanguard 23 Jewels , movement marked as above and 8 Adjustments . Both dials look good. The second with Vanguard marked dial has some rust on hands.
