Johannes Scholfield Walnut Quarter-striking Longcase Clock, England, c. 1760, the simple dome-top case with sound vents along the cornice, rectangular door with cut corners and flanked by chamfered corners all on a short bracket base, 13 1/2-in. composite brass dial with Roman numerals marked Johannes Scholfield at the six position of the chapter ring, "rolling moon" and moon's age calendar in the arch, matted and engraved center and cast brass spandrels, three-train movement, eight-day time, countwheel strike, and quarter-chime on two bells with three lead weights and pendulum, ht. 91 1/2 in. movement in need of an overhaul. Case needs restoration.
