Three Japanese Timekeepers, a persimmon shaku dokei with weight-powered, short pendulum, verge-escapement movement with floral-engraved front plate, over a long trunk with thirteen movable brass characters, the weight set with a pierced brass pointer, ht. 29 in.; a small spring-powered shaku dokei with balance wheel verge-escapement all in brass, housed in a glazed mahogany box, ht. 4 1/2 in.; and a square copper-cased makura dokei timepiece with a spring-powered fusee verge foliot escapement, copper and brass dial, ht. 3 in. The firs clock is missing the hood and the key drawer. The second needs the glass secured to the case. The makura dokei is missing the foliot weights.
